PETS STROLL FEST 2002
Press Release, 12 Nov 2002

An effort to raise awareness on the plight of abused, homeless and abandoned animals, Pets Stroll Fest 2002 is a call to all animal lovers to support the humane efforts of four animal welfare associations - SPCA, Action for Singapore Dogs, Cat Welfare Society and the House Rabbit Society.

Pets Stroll Fest 2002 will feature an interesting variety of activities including a fund-raising animal walkathon. All animal lovers, whether you come with or without your pet, are invited to join us at this walkathon.

Pets Stroll Fest 2002 Walkathon
Date: 14 December 2002, Saturday
Start/ End Point: Civic Plaza, Ngee Ann City
Walkathon Hours: 4.30pm to 6pm
Full walkathon distance: 2.1 km
Registration fee: S$10 per person (with or without pet)

The animal welfare societies are also having booths at Civic Plaza to raise awareness on animal welfare and to promote the importance of responsible pet ownership. There will also be a wide selection of cards, gifts and accessories available at these booths that make perfect gifts for the coming festive seasons. Check out these items and for each purchase you make, you are also doing your part for the animals.

As a continuing effort to find their loveable local animals a good new home, ASD, CWS and HRSS are bringing down some of them to Pets Stroll Fest 2002. Interested adopters may take this opportunity to learn more about the animals' characteristics and temperaments, before registering their interests with the societies.

Cat and dog owners may also register their pooch or feline in our mini competitions. In the 'Most Captivating Eyes' contest for cats, the most stunning pair of eyes will walk away with fabulous prizes. Dog owners may also show us the intelligent tricks that they have been practicing with the dog to win the 'Best Coordinated Trick' title.

Dog owners may learn more about their dogs through socializing them and understand more about dog communication from our certified canine behavior counselor. In groups of four, each session costs S$10 per dog and net proceeds are donated to the animal charities. There are limited slots available. Check out the timetable from the website and be there early to avoid disappointment.

Before you go, don't forget to groom your pet too by our professional groomers from Petstylist. For S$10 per dog, you will have his nails trimmed, under-paws fur cut and his ears cleaned. Likewise, all proceeds are donated to the societies.
