School Talk and Fund-Raiser at
Qifa Primary School
On 6th February 2003, HRSS was invited back to Qifa
Primary School by one of their teachers, Mrs Chung,
to set up an education/ merchandise booth. This was
a follow up to a successful talk to their students last
year.
When the recess bell rang at 9.30am, our booth was
swarmed with students, all eagerly and excitedly eyeing
our merchandise. Despite the small selection of items
that we had on sale, our bookmarks, postcards, greeting
cards and t-shirts obviously had massive kids appeal
for some of the enthusiastic exclamations overheard
were "I want this one!" and "This is
so cute!". Every little face lit up when they got
the item they wanted. Some even went all out to get
their parents to patronise our booth.
Bunnies
were also played up in the faces of a group of P2 students
when Mrs Chung and her assistant turned the gamely little
faces into animated bunnies. We admired their boundless
zeal as they zipped around the school to help us spread
the message.
The students, who visited our booth, also took part
in a Rabbity Quiz, designed by Janice Lim, our Education
Officer. They all eagerly gathered in front of our two
banners to digest the information and jotted the answers
away. The winners were announced at the end of the day.
In this way, we hope the kids learnt something new and
responsibility for animals.
Without the help and enthusiasm of Mrs Chung &
the students, this fund raising event at Qifa Primary
School would not have been such a success.
We left with a happy heart and were inspired by their
eagerness and devotion to help the rabbits.
