HRSS was invited by the nice folks from the RC in the western part of Sg to take part in their Block party cum Dengue Prevention Awareness! We managed to get a spot at the flea market and I truly mean a good ’spot’.. H.Cheng was there real early to ‘chop’ the best “Feng Shui” spot for us and that definitely paid off as we managed to get every passerby’s attention! We had a Name your Own Price themed flea mkt and buyers are free to give ay amount they wish to. Although we did try to deliberately highlight that all sales proceeds goes towards all our efforts in rescue and education works… Hehe

We managed to sell of around half of the items we brought there. Everyone had lotsa fun despite staying till 11pm and still having to lug back all the leftover items.. We’re eager looking forward to out next flea mkt which unfortanately me n Nicole will have to use our charms to try to sell of Shin’s red bomb… Thanks folks! =P

HRSS participated in the Pets Carnival organised by the animal-loving folks from Nee Soon CC last Sunday !
3 usual representatives were sent down to man the booth that day and these are the 2 busy folks caught on camera :
Most HRSS merchandise were being sold that day in which our Hopwood bunny Plush Toy attracted both kids and adults. Many of them were sold. So if you haven’t got yourself one and would like to get one, pls visit our website www.hrss.net. I’m also glad that a few people actually came up to us wanting to learn more about rabbit care, and enquiring about joining us as a sponsor. We also made our society’s presence to a whole new lot of people (mainly dog-owners) who popped by the event on that day.
There was also an adoption drive held that day. Personally I do not fancy the idea of ‘On-the-spot’ adoption as I feel an adoption process requires time and plenty of good communication in order to get a match. But I guess as long as the adopter is genuine and ready for the commitment, it won’t matter even if it’s on the spot.
We ended our day with a happy and lucky note. HS bought these coupons from the organisor early that afternoon and we got the 7th prize , which was a rice cooker ! It was decided that I will buy it and donate the proceeds back to ourselves since my rice cooker at home went hay-wire days prior to the event.. Talk about good timing! And I must talk about this extremely adorable doggie… He/She saw Shin’s leg and without any notice, started hugging it.. And refuses to let go.. It was sooo CUTE!
Nee Soon East CC gave us this token of appreciation for our participation and I must share it with you. It was very nicely done and very nice of them to have invited us.
